In a Drug-Free Workplace program, the TPA role is to be a service agent that works as a liaison between an employer and a “2nd party”. The second party could be the employee, collection site, lab, MRO, DOT Auditor, other employers, etc. In this program, the employer is the 1st party and the TPA is a 3rd party. TPA takes responsibility to manage some of the standard procedures such as routine administrative duties, record maintenance, and drug and alcohol testing programs, and ensure that the company is compliant with Federal and State regulations.

Drug tests are processed at a SAMHSA Certified laboratory. Results are reviewed by one of our doctors, toxicology experts who are known as Medical Review Officers (MROs). If any drug shows up positive, the MRO will reach out to the person who took the test to ask for proof of any legal prescriptions. Finally, the MRO will release the final results, which will be reported back to the Employer or the person who set up the test.
Results are ready within 2-3 business days. If the test comes out positive, the results will be ready within 5-7 business days. Results will be emailed to the donor or the company requesting the test results. Results can also be picked up at our location.
